Sapient equines descended from the Gaulish goddess Epona; Eponinae (singular Eponina) resemble Connemara or Shetland ponies with pastel-colored coats and manes. They inhabit Rhiannon's Vale¸ an otherworldly wooded valley accessible from places of pristine natural beauty in northern Europe¸ New England¸ Canada¸ and Mongolia. Rhiannon's Vale in turn contains portals to several other magical realms inhabited by friends and foes of the Eponinae.
