Vikandra and the Smoldering City

The World of Aedrenar was rocked by a great war nearly three centuries ago. This war¸ fought between two nations ruled over by mighty sorcerers¸ torched the land and left most of it devastated. Where great cities and fertile valleys used to stand¸ there are now great ruins and desolate badlands. Fell beasts and ancient spirits hunt these fallen lands¸ searching for the few survivors that still scratch a living from this great and terrible wasteland.
Vikandra is an adventurer and sometimes mercenary¸ hailing from the Northern Kingdoms. These Kingdoms were largely untouched by the great wars that scorched the south. Now¸ Vikandra has received information about the secret location of a Southern Fortress; a ruin which held the treasury of a nation. With the help of her compatriots she sets on the perilous journey South¸ in search of the Smoldering City...
