R.W.C. WILDE: THE REPAIRER OF REPUTATIONS ¸ is a tale of intrigue and mystery¸ putting players in the employee of an odious man with a unique profession - the engineering of peoples social standing¸ and the working of rumour in their favour. Inspired by the opening short story in Robert Chamber's seminal horror work The King In Yellow ¸ players find themselves orbiting the edge of a horrific secret which threatens to drive them mad. The Repairer Of Reputations contains four short¸ interconnected stories making your player group the agents of Mr. Wilde¸ investigating three matters on his behalf in exchange for receiving his services in their own cases. Finally¸ the fourth story brings secretsa nd lies to their conclusion as the group are forced to face those who have been wronged through the course of their work and help Mr. Wilde in escaping from imminent danger. The module is presented as system-neutral¸ containing no rules getting in the way of the story¸ and instead giving you only the narrative as a guide for your own games using any rules system you want.
