The Dragon and the Dragoon



When a timid Dragon accidentally despoils a merchant caravan of its wares on the road to a prosperous trading town¸ a series of unintended events are set in motion and a pair of young adventurers is prompted to take advantage of it.
"The Dragon and the Dragoon” is an amusing short story by author¸ poet¸ and editor Tudor Jenks that was originally published in 1895 and which includes a half-dozen black-and-white illustrations by artist R.B. Birch.
