Part of the sprawling Casey¸ Crime Photographer multimedia empire that ran from the 1930s into the 1950s¸ spanning magazine stories¸ novels¸ movies¸ radio¸ tv¸ comic books and a stage play¸ this radio show follows the adventures of Casey¸ a photographer for the Morning Express.
A veteran newsman¸ Casey is not only a top photographer¸ but also knows almost everyone in the city¸ hobnobbing with high society playboys and notorious racketeers alike. Invariably¸ his pursuit of a story draws him and reporter girlfriend Ann Williams into events¸ often to the distress of their pal¸ homicide Lieutenant (later Captain) Logan. When not out snapping pictures and chasing headlines¸ Casey and Ann spend almost every waking moment at the Blue Note Cafe with the affable barman Ethelbert¸ their confidante¸ sounding board and friend.
Created by George Harmon Coxe and adapted for radio by Alonzo Deen Cole¸ the show went by many names over the years - "Flash-Gun Casey¸ Press Photographer¸" "Casey¸ Crime Photographer¸" "Casey¸ Press Photographer¸" but most commonly¸ simply "Crime Photographer."

The series premiere. Flash-Gun Casey covers a society wedding¸ grousing at being ordered to work on a puff piece. When his undeveloped photos get switched with another photographer's¸ he discovers what looks like industrial espionage. Ann Williams joins the Morning Express and Casey introduces her to the Blue Note Cafe¸ Ethelbert and Ernie the pianist. Casey resists the idea that one of the photographers he knows is a criminal¸ but in reality¸ the situation is far more dangeorus than he suspects.
