Haunted Dreams - Hag Nightmares for The Curse of Strahd



Morgantha and her coven make for one of the most terrifying encounters in the Curse of Strahd. Typically occurring early in the game¸ few players live to tell the tale¸ and those that do are often afflicted with the Night Hag's most crippling curse... the Nightmare Haunting.
Unfortunately¸ as memorable a set piece as Bonegrinder is¸ the mechanics of the Nightmare Haunting leave a lot of fun roleplaying and world-building opportunities unexplored. A better version would allow for more variety in consequence¸ more mystery in origin¸ and become less of an annoyance than an opportunity for deepening the feeling of terror that plagues Barovia.
Haunted Dreams is intended to do just that. Introducing a system of Nightmare Cards that offer twelve different gameplay effects¸ including suggestions at roleplay and a built-in haunting mechanic¸ this expansion creates a sense of mystery and dread to enrich your Curse of Strahd game.
