It's a dark and stormy night¸ and you trudge exhausted up the hill to the sanctuary of Cliffhanger Abbey. Surely here you will find a place to rest your weary feet until dawn? What could possibly go wrong... Cliffhanger Abbey is a Ravenloft adventure for 4-6 level one characters. It is set in Gothic Earth¸ a domain very similar to our own¸ but can easily be placed wherever you wish in the domains of dread or inserted as a deadly side-quest for your non-Ravenloft campaign. The adventure invokes themes from the gothic horror genre. It should take 1-2 hours to complete depending on how much of the material you opt to use¸ and your group's speed at handling combat encounters. Cliffhanger Abbey also includes guidance on the Gothic Earth setting¸ and mechanics to help invoke the right atmosphere for the bleak¸ magic starved world.
