Hi¸ I'm the author of the official solo rules for Forbidden Lands¸ which can be found as a chapter in the Book of Beasts. When writing the official ruleset¸ Free League had a word count limit that I had to work to¸ which limited the scope of what I could produce. As such¸ I made notes of what I would have liked to have added and those are now coming together here for this expansion.
Please note that no content from the official ruleset is duplicated here - this document is not standalone and requires the solo chapter from the Book of Beasts.
In addition¸ please note that the journeying tables included here currently cover the Ravenlands only. There are no plans to create tables to cover the expansions¸ as I'd need to do some significant playtesting in those settings first¸ and I don't currently have any plans to do so.
So what's currently in the expansion? Upgrading Your Adventurer contains 2 new professions built for solo (Explorer & Scout)¸ expanded tables for lifepath generation¸ and expanded animal companions. (4 pages) Expanded Journeying contains an alternative weather system¸ 3 new mishap tables which use playing cards¸ and a new expanded hunting table. (2.5 pages) Codifying Solo Combat contains advice for handling NPCs in combat¸ and expanding the advanced close combat to make it more solo friendly. (1.5 pages) Solo-Friendly Adventure Sites contains advice and tweaked tables to make dungeon and castle generation more solo-friendly. (1.5 pages) Creating Solo Adventure Sites provides guidance for other creators to create solo-focused adventure sites. (1 page)
