Praxis-The Black Monk: Equinox
In The Black Monk¸ Equinox the characters live in a desolate world where time has lost meaning. Once there stood a Black Monk who ruled their lives¸ but he hasn't been seen for decades. Or is it centuries? Maybe it was yesterday. Regardless. He is no more. The people of Sovereign live inside a glass structure¸ built from the memories of the dead in the middle of an impassable desert. Here¸ eternity has made its last stand against the world of suffering outside. As stories of the Black Monk fade from memory¸ the world outside gives rebirth to hope. Or at the very least the death of misery. But the sun has started to fade. What could that mean? There hasn't been darkness since the inhabitants of Sovereign made their home here. Why is the sky crying? Praxis is a series of story roleplaying games that thrusts characters into dramatic situations and is based on the principles of the Protocol game system. Each game uses the same set of rules¸ with vastly different parameters¸ start-points¸ roles¸ plot twists¸ and finales. Praxis does not play like a traditional roleplaying game. It does not require a gamemaster. There is no script. No endpoint. No cumbersome or extraneous mechanics detracting from the story. An entire epic can be played in under four hours.
