When the ponies emerged from the water¸ they did not immediately spring into being earth-bound¸ pegasi¸ unicorns and others. At first they bore heavy marks of their aquatic origins¸ taking timid steps onto their arid new world. While many eventually adapted to their new life¸ becoming the physical tribes we would come to know¸ isolated places still hold these throwbacks¸ the curious inbetweens of sea and land. Welcome the Protopones.
