Bedlam - A one page role-playing game of daring escape
Bedlam - A role-playing game of daring escape
In Bedlam¸ you are imprisoned in the Asylum¸ unwillingly of course! The four chalk white walls have not been a kind friend to you and you have made the decision it is time for a change¸ it is time to go home.
That means that the only right thing to do is to make a run for your freedom. To do that you need an escape plan¸ and so you start hatching one.
The problem?
There is only one of you¸ yet there are six voices fighting for control¸ each wanting to do it differently¸ each grasping for power to take over¸ even for just a single key decision.
In Bedlam¸ players will take control of the voices representing different emotions within a patient of an Asylum¸ from which they seek an escape. Throughout the game¸ players need to discuss and agree on they course of action taken. Be wary however¸ as discord is rampant a single emotion may choose to take over the control and decide on the way you deal with the problems on the way to your freedom.
Disclaimer!
While the game touches upon topic of mental illness¸ it does not attempt to trivialise it¸ nor represent it in a funny¸ or disrespectful way. It attempts to raise awareness of the difficulties people suffering from mental disorders may experience on a daily basis and show the toll it may take on them and their closest ones.
Any donations received for this project will be donated to Mind¸ a UK mental health charity organisation!
