A SHATTERED FAMILY
In the heydays of late 2029 and through today¸ the MegaCorps and the Nations of the Earth made earnest moves to expand into the region known as Sol Core for gathering rare elements and taking strategic positioning over their great power competitors. There was no possible way anyone in control could envision that¸ by mid-2035¸ there would exist a cold civil war occurring between the ground-based home offices of the powers that be and their once loyal orbital assets.
THE CHERYK DRIVE
After numerous experiments¸ conferences¸ movies¸ books¸ and colliders¸ humanity dipped back to an older idea and used what they now understood via modern scientific principals. The Nieves Croytonics and Dinova Aerospace¸ backed by DynaSoft and eGen¸ after several fatal disasters¸ options losses¸ sabotage¸ and worse¸ finally perfected the Cheryk Drive¸ completing the first successful run from the high orbit station to Luna and back in just over 5 hours; a new age dawned that cold day¸ 28 November 2032.
