The Plague of Frogs is an adventure/mystery for Liminal Horror that has the players investigate a rash of attacks that have end up being more than random bouts of violence. Can they stop the Plague of Frogs without fracturing their minds & bodies?
TOUCHSTONES: BPRD: Plague of Frogs (comic) Re-Animator (film) Aliens(film)
Mystery Structure: This is the first text using Liminal Horror's new mystery structure (so you too can create your own).
Concept & Touchstones: (using film/comics/novels or just specific scenes/images can help anchor the creative process) Factions & Their Goals: Helps ensure that actions and reactions can take the vying agendas into account. Doom Clock: A baseline sequence of events that would happen if the investigators do nothing. This framework changes in response to the player's actions. Hooks: A sample list of examples how to entangle players. The choice depends heavily on the decisions made in character creation (and The Party). Potential Clues: A nonexecutive list of potential clues that players can discover. These are like the index cards/red string in a pin board. Think of ways to connect the anchors (victims¸ event¸ malefactor) and the crime framework (means¸ motive¸ opportunity¸ next move). The great thing is you don't need all the answers ahead of time¸ they will emerge in play and in what makes sense. NPCs: A list of important NPCs with their stat blocks. I also include potential types of people the investigators may encounter (so you can be prepared ahead of time if that your preferred route. Locations: A few important locations detailed. Many scenes take place outside of these places but these are where many of the factions reside.
