Sunset Company - a DIALECT backdrop
The end didn't come with a bang or a whimper. It drifted in as a Silence.
Radio and satellite communications ceased. You haven't had a supply drop in weeks. The war's over¸ at least in your little corner of the world.
Your last orders were to hold a secluded little burg in Germany against the expected enemy advance and hold it you did¸ for all the good it did you. A battered enemy force approached cautiously. When you didn't immediately open fire - the Lieutenant said you were short on ammo - they raised a white flag and officially surrendered. Everyone shook hands¸ traded meager luxuries¸ and are now all looking to your LT for ideas about what to do next.
Communication limps along with a mix of German¸ English¸ and Russian; better than can be expected¸ given that you're in bed with 'the enemy.' The rains came like they always do and your rad counters have been pretty quiet. Everything's been quiet.
Silent¸ really. Like the radio.

Dialect is a game about an isolated community¸ their language¸ and what it means for that language to be lost . In this game¸ you'll tell the story of the Isolation by building their language. New words will come from the fundamental aspects of the community: who they are¸ what they believe in¸ and how they respond to a changing world.
Sunset Company is a third-party¸ unofficial Backdrop for Dialect. It revolves around a Cold War-era military unit that experiences the end of the world.
