Battle over Europe
Battle over Europe is a two-player (with solitaire option) strategy card game of World War II air combat using the Battle over Britain game system ¸ based upon single plane-vs-plane dogfights occurring in various theaters in the early years of the conflict to the end of 1941. Gamers fly historical allied and axis warplanes in fast and furious dogfights¸ fighting for control of the sky on a Dogfight Display¸ using aircraft counters that are maneuvered into position by playing cards from your hand. Warplanes from Britain¸ Germany¸ France¸ Italy¸ Russia¸ and Finland are authentically rated in a variety of categories. The object of the game is to shoot down the enemy. The game stresses playability and historicity¸ and uses Minden's standard Battle over Britain game system. The game and all planes are compatible with any release in the series. Planes are rated in a number of categories¸ such as speed¸ aglity¸ performance¸ firepower¸ and damage. Comparing the strengths and weaknesses of the various aircraft is easy and part of the fun. (Rated planes included are: Spitfire I¸ Hurricane I¸ Battle¸ Defiant (Britain); Fw-190¸ Me-109E¸ Me-110C¸ Ju-87D (Germany); D-520¸ MS-406¸ MV-152¸ Potez 631 (France); MiG-3¸ Il-2¸ LaGG-3¸ I-16¸ I-153 (Russia); MC-200¸ CR-42 (Italy)¸ and Fokker D.XXI (Finland). Beside standard scenarios¸ campaign air game include Battle for France 1940¸ Winter War 1940¸ Battle of Britain 1940¸ Barbarossa 1941¸ and Western Desert 1941.
