Genesys Landscape Auto Calculating Character Sheets
The simplest¸ most intuitive¸ yet most inclusive character sheet for the Genesys RPG yet!
This comprehensive character sheet is spread across 2 landscape-oriented pages and is fully customizable for any genre or setting! This product's zip file contains both a print version and fully form-fillable¸ auto-calculating version intended for screens.
What you need:
Adobe Acrobat Reader (free software) and a computer. Note: Even though this sheet can open on mobile phones and tablets¸ the auto-calculating features are not supported. You can still create your character sheet on a computer first and then move it to another device for use.
Download and install the GenesysGlyphsAndDice.ttf dice font (recommended) or the official Genesys fonts to note specific Genesys dice or symbols.
What you get in the ZIP file:
RPGNarco_Genesys_Landscape_Character_Sheet_CALCULATING.pdf ‐ This file is entirely customizable with automatic dice calculations.
RPGNarco_Genesys_Landscape_Character_Sheet_PRINT.pdf ‐ This file is intended for print with only the skill list and the Genesys logo at the top of the first page are customizable.
RPGNarco_Genesys_Landscape_Character_Sheet_PRINT_No_BG¸pdf ‐ This is exactly the same as the previous PRINT version only without to the gray background texture to save printer ink.
Important tips for using the auto-calculating sheet:
You must use Adobe Acrobat Reader (or Pro) software as some of the automatic calculations will not work on other PDF readers.
In Adobe Acrobat Reader¸ go to Edit -> Preferences and locate the Forms category. Uncheck the "Show border hover color for fields" checkbox and click OK. This will remove the blue color from all the form fields and make it much easier to use this sheet.
When typing text in most free-text fields (such as Talent descriptions¸ Weapon special qualities¸ etc¸)¸ click CTRL+E (or CMD+E on mac) to open the Font Style toolbar (also called Form Field Text Properties toolbar). This will allow you to change the font family¸ size and color for your entered text. This is especially helpful for typing in dice symbols¸ even though I have prepared a string of dice on each page so you can copy and paste from that in ease. Note that sometimes after pasting text¸ Acrobat will change the font family or color ‐ Use the Font Style toolbar (CTRL+E) to change back to your desired font and color.
To remove a skill from the list¸ simply delete its name completely. This will hide the entire skill row.
Remember that the Genesys logo image is also customizable so you can put your specific setting logo there.
When you copy text from other sources (e.g. Talent descriptions from the official PDFs) and paste in this document¸ it will usually paste the text with all of the styling (font¸ size¸ etc.) of the original source. In order to avoid that¸ I recommend first copying the text into notepad¸ editing it to your liking¸ and then copy the text from notepad to this document.
Save often and save backups.
As always¸ any feedback is appreciated. I would love to see your characters made using this!
