Rolling combat over and over to kill larger and larger monsters is a fine way to game. But there's so much more that should be happening between those dice rolls. This is an update of Designing Fantasy Scenarios published an ice age ago. The premise is very much the same¸ yet the material has been written with Chronicles of the Outlands in mind.
