Fallen Stars (Core Rulebook)
Fallen Stars is a survival-horror TTRPG with a unique dark-fantasy setting¸ focusing on horde-sized threats that cannot be fought alone¸ if at all.
It is known that when the world was first born¸ the Elder trees were all that existed. Six trees¸ one for each continent¸ from which all other life was crafted. The tree of Elnara birthed the great forest people who went on to sew their seeds and coat the land in grass and flowers. The tree of Saran let loose magicks that flowed through the air¸ speeding up the growth and evolution of all that surrounded it. The tree of Gathe grew men of stone and metal to build great walls and architecture for the wars to come. Each tree had its own goal for the world¸ its own vision. The humans evolved with the trees¸ some being more grateful to their benefactors than others. The humans had their own visions.
It was the tree of Saran that was first felled¸ destabilizing the planet and turning the entire continent into what is now known as the Rift. To this day¸ magick still roams free around the Rift¸ distorting and mutating any lifeform that it comes into contact with. This magick has changed how civilization exists; it has caused wars¸ divides¸ heartbreak. For those that wish to practice the magick which mutated them at birth¸ there are costs. Great costs.
Yet there is a magick which does not come from the Rift. No¸ this magick comes from the Stars - it is Necromancy. Necromancy is a learned school¸ one that does not come naturally to anyone¸ yet exists in all beings. For when a soul is born¸ it is tied to its star. Kings are kings because their soul belongs to Falrian¸ Star of the Natural Leaders. Talka and Pinar are the Stars of the Twins. Pontius¸ Star of the Fisherman. For all souls¸ there is a destined Star. Once those souls die¸ well¸ the Star becomes weakened. Weak enough and it will fall. You don't want a Star to fall.
That's when the souls return.
This 68 page¸ illustrated first edition core rulebook comes with six classes (Stars)¸ four human variant races¸ and two short scenarios designed to be played in a single four hour session.
EDIT: Due to confusion with the word Quickstart in the title¸ I have removed it. However¸ nothing about the product itself is different.
