The Museum of Nightmares
Get ready to explore a museum of nightmares! The "Truly Extraordinary and Curious Travelling Museum of Formicarius Flitwidget" is in town¸ bringing strange artefacts and exhibits from across the multiverse. There is just one problem though: the exhibits have taken over! The Museum of Nightmares is a Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition adventure set in Flitwidget's traveling museum. What at first appears to be a somewhat garish fortuneteller's caravan is in fact the gateway to a vast plane of existence housing the Museum of Nightmares. The Museum of Nightmares is designed to be played with a party of four to six 1st level characters¸ who will progress to 3rd level at the adventure's conclusion. As the characters progress through the museum they will encounter mummified monsters¸ terrifying topiary¸ prehistoric predators¸ deadly drawings and at least one talking shoe. If the characters are particularly thorough¸ they may discover reference to the Witness¸ a mysterious ancient entity whose tendrils are reaching into the neighbouring cities and nations. The adventure is the first part of the "Legacy of the Witness" campaign¸ but can be played as a stand-alone adventure. It could also be used as an introductory one-shot¸ or could be incorporated into your existing campaign. The default setting of this adventure is the Shining South¸ but could easily be played as part of an Eberron campagin setting due to its themes of wacky science¸ magic and otherwordly adventure! This adventure module includes: A 6-8 hour interdimensional adventure for four to six 1st level characters Custom created maps of the Museum of Nightmares Ten denizens of the museum including bone constructs¸ living paintings and Kruthik Huntlings Full instruction manual and rules for activating and using a friendly steam mech 18 items to purchase from the gift shop including plastic snakes¸ ethereal tether traps and buckets of slime Adventure hooks and DM suggestions throughout!
