How To: Life Cleric in (5e)
In this series I am going to take apart specific builds of specific character class and explain how they can be played. There will always be exceptions and outstanding outliers. What I hope to accomplish is to create a guide for players who have never run that particular character build before so they can jump right into a game and be a integral member of the team. What is a Cleric? Clerics are divine spell casters who derive their powers and skills directly from their god or pantheon of gods. They are tasked with furthering the goals of their divine masters and to protect their followers. In game terms the life cleric is the party medic. While they may seem like a support character they are often the keystone member of the party. Without the cleric¸ and their healing powers¸ a party will often fall apart¸ literally. But the cleric doesn't just do healing. A cleric¸ in many ways¸ is in a battle directly with the DM during combat. The DM is trying to kill the party¸ seriously wound them or incapacitate them to some degree. The Cleric is in direct opposition to this as he/she tries to keep the party alive and free of restrictive effects.
