The King has invested in the sleepy village of North Aberfoy. After years of clearing land¸ building roads and bridges¸ finally an excellent harvest. The village¸ the farthest northern settlement in the shadow of the Blackleg Mountain range¸ now thrives. Life has not been easy in these cold hard lands but a stockade has been built and twenty-five of the Kings men have been assigned to the village to enforce the Kings`will and collect the taxes. But an old and jealous danger stalks the village. Blackleg Orc raiding parties have been sited. These Orcs ride on evil wolf-like beasts. Always watching from the shadows these steeds haunt the dreams of the children of North Aberoy. Now a single guardsmen returns to the Kings Keep without his mount or sword.
