UnderLand Part 1 DCC/MCC
UnderLand is a series of 'zine-sized adventures from SGP with between 20-30+ pages each issue¸ all saddle-stitched like classic 'zines. This area can be placed under any ongoing campaign and is a "unifying substrate” linking adventures from any campaign setting together¸ allowing a Referee to pull inspiration¸ locations¸ and adversaries and obstacles from any source they choose from. In addition¸ this series of adventures encompasses classic tales of under-the-surface exploration: Journey to the Center of the Earth (many¸ many different stories)¸ Beneath the Planet of the Apes¸ The Mole People¸ several Hercules movies from the 50s and 60s¸ and over 40+ years (yikes) of the author's experience running fantasy roleplaying games (Lost Caverns of Tsojcanth¸ White Plume Mountain¸ Tomb of Horrors¸ the entire D-series¸ etc.).
UnderLand is Part 1 of this series¸ 36-pages¸ suitable for entry level characters and those
beginning their explorations into the darkness. Four to six characters of levels 1-3 should
find the encounters presented herein challenging but manageable. A good mix of classes is
important¸ and classes with a nature or mining - read: underground - focus may find more
success. UnderLand is inhabited by various humanoid tribes¸ fungal mega-fauna¸ giant
insectoid and lizard-like life¸ and other unique hazards. The encounters can be scaled up in
difficulty by adding additional adversaries¸ reducing the amount of "down time” between
encounters¸ or adding encounters from other sources.
