Do you remember playing with fashion dolls as a kid? Whether you had just one dearly beloved secondhand doll or a veritable army of plastic women¸ did you spend time crafting dramatic stories for your dolls¸ picking out the perfect outfits for their parties¸ or mashing their little faces together to make them kiss¸ just to up the stakes of your playtime?
Dollhouse D.R.A.M.A. is a tabletop roleplaying game about dolls. This is a game where characters themselves may be blank slates¸ ready to be dropped into any world or any story with only a change of clothes. The accessories truly make the girl here: a camera can turn a doll into a photographer¸ a microphone and a glittery dress transform a doll into a pop star. The right skills are only an outfit swap away.
This is a game inspired by iconic fashion doll lines like Barbie¸ Bratz¸ Monster High¸ and so on¸ but also by the media that inspired me and the stories I played out with my dolls as a little girl. Shows like Totally Spies!¸ Sailor Moon¸ and JEM¸ where the girls who starred in every story not only got to save the day¸ they got to be animated in different outfits every episode¸ a true rarity of my childhood viewing.
In Dollhouse D.R.A.M.A.¸ you and your friends will create your doll characters along simple lines - maybe some are a bit smarter or a bit stronger or a bit better with people - and together¸ you can play in any number of "playsets”¸ changing worlds as easily as you might change shoes.
