Chernobyl Mon Amour
Chernobyl Mon Amour is a freeform roleplaying game about love and radioactivity in the Chernobyl Zone of Alienation. You play an escaped convict who seeks to build a new life outside society in a radioactive wasteland. As you settle into the community of the Zone¸ you must juggle love and the attractive pull of the atom. How does it feel to go on a date in the Helicopter Graveyard? What happens when you fall in love with one of the Deniers of the Atom¸ or a Strontium Wolf? When the time comes for you to prove that you're part of the Zone community¸ are you willing to step inside ruins of the reactor? In style¸ Chernobyl Mon Amour is systemless. It's based on character based play and workshop techniques inspired by Nordic Larp¸ Vi Åker Jeep¸ the Fastaval tradition and American diceless games such as Amber. The game's designer Juhana Pettersson has previously published Valley of Eternity¸ a roleplaying game about tragic penguin heroes. He was one of the writers of Vampire: the Masquerade 5th Edition. In larp¸ his best known games are the official Vampire larps End of the Line¸ Enlightenment in Blood and Parliament of Shadows. End of the Line was nominated for the Diana Jones Award. Chernobyl Mon Amour was originally published as a Finnish edition in 2016¸ called Tsernobyl¸ rakastettuni.
