Convergent Realms: Player's Guide to Jenamaris
Everything players need to create characters and explore the world of Jenamaris in the Convergent Realms campaign setting.
Convergent Realms is fictional universe that I have been working on for half my life¸ consisting of the worlds of Earth¸ Kobaullo¸ and Jenamaris.
Essentially¸ due to the actions of various groups of people throughout the three worlds¸ the subspace realm¸ a nonphysical realm underlying physical reality¸ has ruptured. This creates a huge rift joining the three separate worlds¸ and chaos ensues on Earth¸ the focal point of the metaphysical rift.
Creatures formerly trapped within the subspace realm¸ as well as towering humanoid war machines stream out of the rift¸ and as a result¸ Earth finds itself under siege.
After some time¸ it is learned that the creatures coming from within the subspace realm originated from Jenamaris¸ but were banished from Jenamaris with an ancient sorcerer named Arkados¸ and had since been trapped in the subspace realm.
It also seems that the rift originates with experiments being conducted between Earth and Kobaullo to create instantaneous travel throughout the universe. Somehow¸ Arkados was able to take advantage of these instantaneous hops between Earth and Kobaullo to escape the subspace realm¸ also allowing those trapped with him to escape as well. Unfortunately¸ this ruptures space and time¸ connecting¸ Earth¸ Kobaullo¸ and Jenamaris through the metaphysical rift.
Jenamaris is a fantasy world setting¸ where the felkae¸ descendants of the orkrain and "fallen” celestials (fiends)¸ still roam the lands of Jenamaris. Supernatural powers and phenomena are quite real¸ and the threat of war from nations indifferent to the peoples of Jenamaris¸ looms over the metaphorical horizon.
I have been slowly¸ over time¸ developing the Convergent Realms and its worlds¸ originally developing an entire role playing "pen and paper” system for it. Eventually¸ I realized it would be faster and simpler to adapt the System Reference Document 5.1 from Wizards of the Coast¸ Inc.¸ and other Open Game License content.
I began adapting the system for the world of Jenamaris¸ that¸ as a fantasy setting¸ is the closest to the SRD 5.1 game system. I have had to adapt and rework how races¸ classes¸ healing¸ and powers (as opposed to spells) work¸ not just to define the unique differences Jenamaris has from the default system¸ but also to be compatible with material to be developed for this universe's Earth and Kobaullo worlds.
Material I am developing for Earth in the campaign setting is set in our current modern world¸ and material I am developing for Kobaullo in the campaign setting is set in a world more technological advanced than Earth¸ making it a bit of a science fiction setting.
I have already run a campaign in Kobaullo with my friends using the Champions role-playing game published by Hero Games . Eventually¸ the goal however¸ is that characters from Earth¸ Kobaullo¸ or Jenamaris will be able to explore any of the aforementioned worlds without any modification. This requires material released for each world to use a single role playing game system.
So¸ this work¸ Convergent Realms: Jenamaris' Player's Guide¸ briefly introduces players to the world of Jenamaris in the Convergent Realms campaign setting¸ lays out the rules for making a character from Jenamaris¸ as well as the rules for playing characters in the campaign setting.
I am also currently working on an atlas of Jenamaris¸ to be called Convergent Realms: The World of Jenamaris ¸ as well as developing scenarios for a series of adventures for the campaign¸ an "Adventure Path”.
At this point¸ I can not promise that the atlas¸ adventures¸ and material from the other worlds in the campaign setting are coming quickly¸ as I am only one person¸ and I am still working on this work as well. I can promise¸ however¸ that if you bear with and support this work¸ you will see everything released that you need to
