Black Rose Manor is haunted. Terribly so. It always has been¸ always will be. It sits resolute and silent atop a throne of tragedy¸ neither sympathetic nor apologetic for the dark things it hides in its history. And how could it be? It is a soulless thing of wood and plaster and windows and walls. And yet somehow it is alive¸ hungry...and it wants you.
And Black Rose Manor always gets what it wants.
Black Rose Manor is a highly narrative survival horror tabletop role playing game designed for single session or short campaign play. It is heavily influenced by classic and contemporary haunted house stories such as "The Haunting of Hill House” by Shirley Jackson¸ "The Shining” by Steven King¸ "The Amityville Horror” film series¸ and television shows like "The Haunting of Bly Manor”¸ to name a few. In this playtest document¸ you'll find all of the rules necessary for play and for character creation. Have a scary good time.
