Season 3 of The Between expands the innovative game of gothic horror with a new playbook¸ a new Mastermind¸ and 6 new Threats. You must have a copy of The Between to use this material.

The Legacy A new hunter has arrived at Hargrave House! [Insert Smash Bros. new ?ghter meme] !e Legacy is a classic monster hunter character¸ inspired by Van Helsing¸ Castlevania¸ Bloodborne¸ etc. Everyone at Hargrave House is a monster hunter¸ but !e Legacy was literally born to do it. !ey are trying to escape their family's brutal¸ bloody past¸ but not before they take down the Beast¸ a creature that has tormented their bloodline for generations.
The Beast The Beast is a new threat associated with The Legacy playbook. It's unique from other threats in the game in that it's largely unde?ned in the beginning. The player of The Legacy actually holds onto the sheet until it's time to face The Beast¸ and they ?ll in the details throughout play¸ much as the Keeper ?lls out details on the Mastermind sheet. In fact¸ The Beast is very much like a "mini-Mastermind."
Titania¸ Queen of the Fae A new Mastermind. Titania has had her power stolen by Queen Victoria¸ and so she's assembled a human "fae court" to help her get it back. She will stop at nothing to destroy the duplicitous Widow at Windsor¸ and it will be up to Hargrave House to put a stop to her plans. Titania challenges the game's assumptions about the Mastermind always relying on wealth and intellect to enact their schemes. Rather¸ Titania is a street person-a queen brought low-who relies on her knowledge of the ancient and hidden world to torment the empire.
The Reaver's Last Victim This is the game's ?rst Side Threat. A Side Threat is introduced like a regular Threat¸ but it is investigated in a di?erent way or has stakes beyond death and destruction. The Reaver's Last Victim is about the last¸ unfound victim of Roger the Reaver¸ a notorious killer who was a member of Hargrave House (you can explore a bit of Roger's history in the main game via Hargrave House's conservatory).
The Beadle This is a hyper-localized Threat¸ taking place entirely in a single ?at. It's about a man who has changed into a giant insect. The stakes are much more emotional in nature¸ though there is a distinct danger that the insect-man's brood may start to spread across the city...
The Shoreditch Slugger An underground ?ghting club is thrown into disarray with the arrival of an unusually strong¸ unbeatable ?ghter¸ nicknamed the Shoreditch Slugger. Hargrave House has no interest in boxing matches¸ but a hint that the Slugger's power might come ftom a supernatural source gets their attention.
The Miasma of Miswell Hill The Miswell Hill rookery is being tormented by a strange¸ poisonous miasma. Hargrave House investigates to determine if the source is supernatural in nature¸ or something entirely more horrifying: a mundane device to kill the poor. The rookery in this beautifully-researched Threat is like an entire setting all its own.
The Drowned Guardian of the Docks An aquatic demon has been spotted near the docks¸ but is it actually a malevolent spirit¸ or is it something else? Perhaps it's a misunderstood guardian of some sort. This new Threatwas the winner of our recently-held writing contest. It has beautiful details¸ and incorporates themes related to labor rights (and like Miswell Hill¸ is almost an entire setting unto itself).
