The Folly of Ponsonby-Wild is the first Scenario in a four part classic 1920s Call of Cthulhu campaign¸ A Very British Horror.
Set in England¸ a group of people are invited to the funeral of their old friend's husband. But his death is not all that it seems. This man was embroiled in a dark cult whose tendrils reach far into the heart of the British establishment. Through a series of horrifying events and clues discovered around the hotel in which they are staying¸ the investigators slowly uncover the truth behind the sudden death and glimpse fragments of the truth behind the Cult of P'Nath.
Life sucking creatures from beyond our world¸ malevolent entities beyond our comprehension¸ and portals to unseen realities all play a part in this story. As does a delicious cream tea in a delightful country setting.
18 pages of scenario and information¸ 9 pages of high quality handouts and maps¸ and five pre-generated characters to use at your discretion are included in the book¸ as well as a campaign overview to give the keeper an understanding of where this episode fits into the overarching plot. Subsequent scenarios are: The Wombwell Stones (available now!)¸ The Secret of Stourgate and The Veil of P'Nath.
This scenario can just as easily be run as a stand alone episode or assimilated into your ongoing game.
