Baldur's Gate: City Encounters provides Dungeon Masters with forty short encounters to supplement your Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus campaign. These brief scenarios enliven the City of Blood and distinguish it from other settlements along the Sword Coast. This supplement includes:
Tension Encounters. Twenty random encounters tied to five levels of tension within Baldur's Gate - Martial Law¸ Order¸ Status Quo¸ Unstable¸ and Pandemonium. As the characters make decisions¸ they may shift power between the city's major factions and unlock new encounters. Neighborhood Encounters. Twenty encounters¸ each tied to a neighborhood within the Upper¸ Lower¸ and Outer Cities. These encounters build off of existing lore in the "Baldur's Gate Gazeteer" in Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus so you don't have to do any of the heavy lifting. Tension Meter. A handout for tracking the current level of tension within Baldur's Gate. Magic Items¸ Creatures¸ & NPCs.
