Armoured Strike - Cold War and Modern Rules for Armoured Combat
Welcome to the new and updated version of Armoured Strike¸ a set of miniature wargame rules that allows players to recreate combined arms battles in miniature from any conflict during the cold war era (from the late 1940s to 1991) or the present day. These rules are designed for playing engagements at battalion or brigade level between regular forces. This new edidion features numerous improvemnts as a result of the past year of playtesting and [player feedback. Each player takes on the role of a battlegroup commander in charge of several companies of infantry and armour along with their support. Armies are unable to effectively fight without adequate leadership and support therefore Armoured Strike places an emphasis on the command and control of a players forces as well as maintaining logistical support to forward units. The rules have been designed for use with 1/300 or 1/285 micro scale miniatures. Larger scales can be used if players wish however battlegroup sizes may need to be reduced and measurement distances may need to be adjusted. The rulebook includes army lists with unit characteristics for fighting a number of the most significant large-scale battles of the era¸ including engagements in a "cold war gone hot" scenario during the 1980s¸ the 1991 Gulf war and the Arab-Israeli war of 1973.
