Advancing with Class: The Unchained Wizard
Advancing with Class The Unchained Wizard The Wizard is one of the most powerful classes in the Pathfinder Role Playing Game¸ so does it really need to be unchained? After all¸ the really is no limitation on the number of spells the wizard may gain access to other than the size of his spellbooks¸ his access to magical libraries¸ and the wealth for the materials need to gain and copy those spells. However¸ the arcanist found in the Advanced Class Guide presented a new mechanic that separated the means of preparing spells from actually casting spells along with the ability to harness magical energy from an internal reserve to grant the caster a bit more flexibility. So the concept of the unchained wizard was born. This class could be just as likely be called the unchained arcanist in some respects¸ but it actually opens up vistas for the wizard class to make a powerful but somewhat lackluster class a bit more flexible in growth. School specialization is still an option that this class actually expands upon without the limitation of opposition schools (though there is an option to accept such limitations to gain additional spells per day). The arcane bond is maintained and the unchained wizard also gains the ability to fire magical bolts as a spell-like ability to give the class the option to continue the fight even after all the spells are spent. So take on the role of the caster¸ and enjoy a whole new way to empower your way through the story from beginning to end.
