The Flesh is Weak (PBtA)
You are a member of THE CHURCH OF THE SACRED MACHINE.
Long ago¸ before anyone or anything can remember¸ we lived in an AGE OF WONDER AND TERROR.
Technology solved all our problems¸ and man grew complacent. When it turned against us¸ we had no defense. SOULLESS MACHINES HAD MADE US WEAK.
We live in the broken aftermath¸ scavenging from the wastes¸ tilling poisoned soil¸ under the yoke of the FOREVER EMPIRE ¸ an authoritarian regime of infinite cruelty.
Their UNBROKEN MEN stride among us as Gods. With stolen food and hoarded medicine¸ they are a false vision of humanity before. They promise the faithful can become like them.
THEY LIE.
There is no salvation in flesh.
There is no salvation in servitude.
WE TURN NOW TO THE MACHINE.

The Flesh is Weak is a light RPG where players take the role of Aspirants in the Church of the Sacred Machine¸ a religious order in an irradiated and poisoned post apocalypse who strive to replace their fragile human forms with steel and chrome. Wracked with sickness and hunger¸ you long to shed the Failing Flesh and transcend mortality as a divine being¸ a machine with a soul. Standing in your way is the harshness of the wasteland¸ the remnants of ancient war machines¸ and most of all the Forever Empire and its ideal¸ perfect Unbroken Men¸ who hold the survivors in the grip of tyranny. Venture forth into the ruins¸ dig up the artefacts of the Old¸ and incorperate them into your body so you may become your ideal self.
The game is light¸ d6 driven¸ works with groups large and small¸ and sketches out an evocative world for players to define and explore during gameplay. It is in many ways a tribute to the Adeptus Mechanicus of Warhammer 40¸000¸ casting them as heroic rebels against an evil empire in a transhumanist fantasy about overcoming your limits.
