3-5 players | One-Shot Play | 2-4 hour sessions | Rated Adults Only | Powered By the Apocalypse |
Staff PickBluebeard's Bride is one of the most incredible RPGs created¸ regardless of its thinner size and the fact it is to be run as a one-shot. With simple setup and encouragement to set a horror-filled atmosphere¸ Bluebeard's Bride is all about setting up the perfect dark fairytale in an Apocalypse World system. The players play as aspects of the Bride (each one has their own playbook) and travel from room to room to (with a forbidden door to be opened towards the end) learn about Bluebeard and themselves. Each room is a horror in itself that the players have to work through by caring for someone¸ gathering information¸ accepting horror¸ and much more. The system is really simple to learn and the artwork is so beautiful. If you have a good group to play with who are open to diving into horror and are open to exploring those themes¸ it will be a fantastic one-shot.
