The Gamemaster's Convention Kit
Whether running games in a massive convention hall or at store game day¸ the tools contained in this kit are designed to make your work easier and heighten everyone's enjoyment of your event. After all¸ the traveling GM has enough to juggle without having to worry about all the extras. These full color-eye catching aids and tools are designed to take your convention game up a notch.
What is in This Kit
The tools in this kit are specifically designed to supplement gameplay at conventions¸ game store events¸ or other public spaces. Some of them are longstanding tools of the trade¸ while others are fun variations that provide some novelty along with their utility.
Here is a breakdown of the components in this tool kit¸ with instructions on how to print them and use them in your event:
Player Mat
Designed with new or inexperienced players in mind¸ this simple table mat has spaces set aside to keep dice and hero points neat and at the ready¸ while also providing simple rules reference and tips to promote better play. The player doesn't need to flip through her rulebook or comb through some dense rules reference. A quick glance when gathering dice to roll an Approach is all she needs. Don't be surprised when experienced players start demanding one of their own.
Table Tent
An old standby¸ these handy tools present information two ways. To the GM and other players at the table¸ they clearly present vital information about the Hero-including Nationality¸ Arcana¸ and any Duelist or Sorcery abilities. To the player¸ it offers a quick rules reference on Skill Rank Abilities and Dramatic Wound Effects¸ as well as a handy tool to track Dramatic Wounds with a paper clip (brightly colored paper clips recommended).
Rules Reference Bookmark
This simple tool can be used to mark key information in the rulebook¸ but is also a handy rules reference on its own. These can make a fun takeaway for your game¸ too.
NPC and Villain Cards
Based on the Hero and Villain decks from John Wick Presents¸ these cards are presented in a variety of ways. The kit includes an index card design as well as a playing card design¸ in both form-fillable pdfs and simple print variations. The playing card variety includes a blank flap where you can write the name or the NPC or Villain¸ or even affix an image of the character if you prefer. Drape this over the top of your GM screen to give your players a visual reference for the character in the scene.
Event Sign In Sheet
This sheet clearly lists your name and the title of your event¸ as well as a Twitter account or blog address if you prefer to list one. Players can sign-in and leave contact information so you can send them a thank you email later or ask for feedback on your event.
