Corruption Revisited



Of all the mechanics of 7th Sea 2nd edition¸ few are as contentious as Corruption. The complaints stem from its disconnect with the rest of the rules philosophy. The game takes a left turn from its hero- empowering framework to arbitrary random chance. However¸ Corruption does have a purpose in the game. In a system where character failure is all about choice¸ there needs to be a red line somewhere that reads: "do not cross!" The question is¸ what are the consequences for crossing that line?
