100 Rumours to Hear in: Ifri
his is a selection of one hundred different rumours that could be discovered by characters in Ifri. Whether or not any of these rumours are true is up to the GameMaster. Some rumours are based on the truth whilst others may have misinterpretations and some do have elements that are definitely not true¸ or at least not canon. An individual GM can decide that they are true in their campaign.
These rumours can be used as potential adventure hooks or as simple misinformation or background colour to be used whilst characters are looking for other information.

Here are some sample results:
- Some are claiming that the Nommo are not what they appear to be. The nomadic people who travel the Great Rivers sometimes take in criminals and outcasts¸ and they appear to be simple travellers who merely live on the water. However¸ this travel means that Nommo can be found throughout Ifri¸ and it's being said this is part of a deliberate plot to infiltrate the nations from within¸ building an army that¸ when the time is right¸ will seize power and become the rulers of the continent.
- Sometimes the Iteru River turns blood red before it starts steaming and boiling¸ which is a hazard to life on and in the river. There has seemed to be no regularity about when this happens¸ or why¸ only that it does and it's harmful. However¸ those living on the banks of the Iteru are saying that the river is turning to blood more frequently than it has before. They are concerned that it may eventually start boiling and remain that way¸ which will be extremely destructive.
- Spies have apparently been discovered at Manden's Imperial University in Nianiba. They were reportedly attempting to take information from the military research done by Manden's military¸ which gathers military technology from around the world to improve Manden's own. It's thought that the spies were working indirectly for the Atabean Trading Company¸ looking to get enough information to undermine Manden's military strength.
- Tensions between Vodacce and Aksum have been rising. Vodacce traders have been regularly breaking their given word¸ after centuries of being reliable partners¸ and in return Aksum has been capturing Vodacce pirates and selling the ships to rivals. Things have apparently stepped up a notch¸ as there are rumours that Aksum vessels are now attacking regular Vodacce merchant ships and that Vodacce traders have been taking money for goods but never fulfilling the orders.
- The Aksumite sorcery of Melbur involves dealing with abonsam and is dangerous at the best of times. With the dscah ru's position currently vacant¸ there is a lack of unified tracking down of children who would become dasusuo. This needs doing before they are too badly corrupted by the abonsam. Not only is there no official representative of the emperor doing this¸ the number of children being tempted has sharply risen and many of the dasusuo are starting to fight amongst themselves.
